While the German national team is still preparing for the World Cup, the focus in Germany is once again on the DFB Cup. The draw for the 1st round in the live ticker.
The World Cup starts in a few days in the USA, Canada and Mexico. But for a few hours the focus will be on football in Germany again: the draw for the first round of the DFB Cup is on Saturday evening. Who will face defending champions FC Bayern?

10/27 – October 28, 2026 2nd round
01.12. – December 2nd, 2026 Round of 16
02.02. – February 10, 2027 Quarterfinals
April 20th – April 21, 2027 semi-finals
May 29, 2027 Final in Berlin
6:09 p.m – This is how the draw is done: one ticket is drawn first from the amateur pot, then from the container with the tickets from the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga. The team drawn first always has home advantage.
6:07 p.m – The first round takes place from Friday, August 21st to Monday, August 24th. FC Bayern will not be there. The German champions will play the Supercup against BVB on August 22nd at 8:30 p.m. These two games will therefore be played on the 1st/2nd. Postponed in September.
6:04 p.m – The teams in places 15 to 18 in the 2nd Bundesliga and the four best teams in the 3rd league go into the “amateur pot”.
6:02 p.m – Incidentally, all Bundesliga teams from last season as well as the 14 best-placed teams in the 2nd Bundesliga are in the professional pot.
6 p.m. – The lottery ticket today is the German referee legend Deniz Aytekin.
