Fidan Ekiz shone in his absence on Monday evening during the interview of her Op1 colleague Sven Kockelmann with none other than Prime Minister Mark Rutte. Where was she?
The large Op1 interview with Prime Minister Mark Rutte was conducted by Sven Kockelmann on Monday evening. Quite striking, because he forms a regular duo with Fidan Ekiz in the talk show. Why wasn’t she at the party? The presenter provides clarity in the talk show HLF8.
Where was Fidan?
Fidan argues that her absence was simply due to a practical reason. When asked why she was not sitting next to Sven, she answers: “Well, because this was not intended for Op1 initially. There would be another timeslot for it. That didn’t work and then it’s last minute so solved.”
Fidan thinks it’s totally fine that Sven did that on his own. “Sven is simply one of the best interviewers in the Netherlands, simple. Rutte is very difficult to interview and I think he has done this really well.”
meaningless interview
The interview with Rutte did not stir up much for people. Many viewers found it all very meaningless, Metro writes. “Disappointing for a genuinely curious viewer, because a meaningless interview”, is one of the reactions quoted by the newspaper.
AD opinion diva Angela de Jong also reacted lukewarm. “Sven never really got a grip on Rutte, who showed strong similarities with a smooth bar of soap that slid out of his hands as soon as he tried to squeeze harder. Because what have we really achieved with this interview or have we learned something we didn’t already know? Nothing at all.”
