Anger is splashing against the plinths in BNNVARA circles now that former broadcaster Fidan Ekiz is talking about internal sensitivities at the broadcaster in her new cancel documentary. She accuses her former employer, among other things, of taking her talk show De Vooravond off the tube because of her somewhat right-wing signature.

Fidan responds

BNNVARA celebrity Erik Dijkstra, who previously admitted that he looked away from the abuses at DWDD, has now vomited Fidan from top to bottom in Eva Jinek’s talk show. The presenter thinks she should stop crying about the end of her much-watched talk show on the eve of NPO 1.

Fidan responded with surprise via her Instagram page: “There is a lot going on about the end of De Vooravond in newspapers and online (and a talk show, #jank), while I have not spoken to anyone about this. My quotes come from our series that is about much, much more than De Vooravond and BNNVARA. So watch.”

Support from Angela

It went in yesterday Eva’s talk show again about Fidan and her canceldocu. Angela de Jong expressed her support for the presenter there. “I think it is very obvious that De Vooravond had to stop because there were presenters who made a sound that is not very much of VARA’s.”

Erik’s argument that De Vooravond simply had to be aired because it was a bad program is not valid, according to Angela: “For the time being, it is the only program after De Wereld Draait Door that managed to attract more than 1 million viewers at that time. ”

Not to Eve

Jan Slagter thinks it is unfair that Fidan is now being treated in this way for a tiny part of her documentary. “De Vooravond is a very small part of the documentary, isn’t it?”

Eva then: “Fidan says so too. We called her and she sent us a response. She says: ‘I think it would be very strange not to ask the question about De Vooravond in a docuseries about cancelling. (…) I don’t want to be a guest tonight.’”

Why not?

Why doesn’t Fidan want to sit with Eva? “I want people to watch the whole series and debate about the culture of fear in our country and not always about De Vooravond.”

Eva still had that debate after her advertising break. Fidan is satisfied with that. She responds Instagram: “How nice this item at Jinek. It was really about the content and the debate. Prepared with integrity and fairness and called by the editors. A relief after what I saw this week in the form of online (so-called) interviews / clickbaits.”
