Fidan Ekiz lashes out at Richard Groenendijk: “It’s so old-fashioned”

Fidan Ekiz is not surprised that Richard Groenendijk’s new game show has flopped so mercilessly. “I can’t watch it,” the Op1 star sneered. “I find this so incredibly old-fashioned.”

Comedian Richard Groenendijk’s new TV show Think Inside The Box was discussed in Media Inside, where Fidan Ekiz was a guest together with her Op1 colleague Sven Kockelmann. The program started last Friday with 292 thousand viewers and that is really bad for such a large program at a good time.

Old-fashioned

It doesn’t surprise Fidan, she says. “I can’t watch it. I have nothing to do with it, not with games at all. I really don’t like that. I always think there’s a button on the TV, so if I don’t like it, I don’t watch. They should do what they want, but I find this so incredibly old-fashioned.”

Does colleague Sven follow these kinds of programs? He says, “Well, this kind of thing isn’t like that. I always think: we still stayed where Who of the 3 ever finished. It’s actually all the same concept.”

idiot

Media Inside host Gijs Groenteman is especially annoyed by the participating celebrities. “Yes, it’s just baking the same thing again, but I think those celebrities are getting weirder and weirder. Those people start acting more and more idiotic when they guess something.”

Sven: “I also think the title Think Inside The Box is still special after the past few weeks, especially at that production house (Talpa, ed.), but apart from that: no, this is not for me.”

Allergic

TV makers should get rid of all those celebrities everywhere, says Fidan. “In any case: that celebrities are committed to shows and programs, I am really allergic to that.”

If the Op1 editors suggested discussing a program like Think Inside The Box at the table, as happened in HLF8, would Fidan do that? “I say no.”

Sven: “I would also say no, yes about this specific example.”

New picture

Fidan himself invariably refuses to participate in these kinds of shows. “Well, I wasn’t asked for this, but I am often asked… Well, often… They don’t ask me anymore, because I never want to, but I do get asked for games.”

Sven is not into light entertainment anyway. According to him, you see that less and less in Op1. “Just famous Dutch people because they are famous Dutch people or have released a new album, we don’t do that very often anymore.”
