Feyenoord strengthened the selection on Monday with Javairo Dilrosun. The attacker comes over from Hertha BSC and signs a contract until mid-2026 in De Kuip.
With Dilrosun, Feyenoord is bringing in a replacement for Luis Sinisterra. The Colombian winger left the Rotterdam team last week for a record amount for Premier League club Leeds United.
“I have been in contact with trainer Arne Slot for a long time,” says 24-year-old Dilrosun. “He wanted me to be there, just like technical director Frank Arnesen. They gave me a good feeling in our conversations. The club has ambition and that appeals to me.”
Dilrosun went through part of Ajax’s youth academy, but chose to transfer to Manchester City at a young age. The Amsterdammer never broke through at the Premier League club and left for Hertha BSC, where he made his debut in professional football in the 2018/2019 season and conquered a basic place.
Javairo Dilrosun made his debut for the Dutch national team in 2018, but was soon injured.
Dilrosun had little memorable debut with Orange
In November 2018, Dilrosun was rewarded with his debut in the Dutch national team. The attacker made his appearance in the Nations League game with Germany (2-2) after the break, but was injured twenty minutes later. He did not play for months and has not been called up for the Dutch national team since then.
In the 2020/2021 season, Dilrosun did not play much due to injuries, after which Hertha BSC rented him out to Girondins de Bordeaux last season. In 34 official games for the French club, the Dutchman was good for three goals and eight assists. His contract with Hertha BSC continued until mid-2024.
Dilrosun is the fourth reinforcement for Feyenoord with a view to next season. The Rotterdammers previously added Danilo (Ajax), Mohamed Taabouni (AZ) and Mats Wieffer (Excelsior) to the selection. Opposite this is the departure of Sinisterra, Tyrell Malacia, Guus Til and Cyriel Dessers, among others.
