Fewer Drenthe in unemployment benefits, especially more work for security guards

The number of unemployment benefits in Drenthe continues to decrease, according to figures from the UWV benefits agency. Just like in recent months, fewer unemployed Drenthe had to use the benefit in June.

Compared to the month of May, the number of unemployment benefits fell by 5.4 percent. If you compare it with a year earlier, the decrease is even 29.3 percent.

The UWV reports that the number of unemployment benefits has fallen in almost all sectors. The largest decrease can be seen in technology and transport, among other things. The fact that the difference with a year ago is so great has mainly to do with the corona years. Many people in various professions came to sit at home.

This is particularly evident in the security sector. In the first corona year, security guards already saw their work change. Instead of keeping an eye on major events, they were deployed at supermarkets, shopping centers and hospitals that year, partly because of the corona rules that were introduced. RTV Drenthe made the report below about this.
