Fettes Brot fans have the chance to see the band live for the first time in a long time. But you have to bring a bit of spontaneity with you. The surprise concerts announced a few days ago will take place this Friday, August 26th in Hamburg.
“Hello Hamburg, we’ll chug over here later,” the band announced on Facebook, among other things, and revealed a total of three concert locations: Fettes Brot will play at 3 p.m. in Övelgönne (near Strandperle), at 4 p.m. at the Landungsbrücken and at 4.45 p.m on the Magellanic Terraces. Other concerts are also possible: “If the weather permits, we’ll add 1 or 2 more spots! Times and locations at 4:30 p.m. on Twitter, Insta & FB.”
On Tuesday, August 23, Fettes Brot was back after a long break. “After almost three years, we’ll be performing again spontaneously and at short notice, in Hamburg,” the band shared Facebook With.
Fettes Brot had previously published a photo on Instagram, which apparently shows the group preparing for the announced show. The caption says: “This, at first glance, quite inconspicuous picture means that the band Fettes Brot met for rehearsals. What can I say: It’s like riding a bike. You don’t forget it and you should wear a helmet. So it’s true… after almost 3 years of chastity, it’s spontaneously getting dirty again (in HH)”.
The fact that the concert is taking place in the Hanseatic city is no coincidence: the band members Martin Vandreier, Boris Lauterbach and Björn Warns originally come from Halstenbek, Schenefeld and Pinneberg just outside Hamburg. Fettes Brot was founded in 1992; the musicians attended the same high school. Three years later, the anthem “Nordisch by Nature”, performed partly on Platt, caused her breakthrough. Other hits in her repertoire are “Jein”, “Emanuela” and “On Days Like These”.
