Festive opening for new studio Omroep Assen

This afternoon the new studio of Omroep Assen was opened in a festive way. Brand new alderman Bert Jan ten Oever had the honour. Since May of this year, the local broadcaster has been located in the RTV Drenthe building. Where she has a new studio and editorial space at her disposal.

With this, the broadcaster is taking a new path, says chairman Ger de Vos of Omroep Assen. “A new organization, a new board and now also a new studio make it possible to expand the program offer. And radio can be made in a more professional way.”

By transferring a staff pass, the local broadcaster is now really welcome in the building of the regional broadcaster of Drenthe. “We are volunteers and professional people with knowledge work here at RTV Drenthe. By coming here in the building, we hope that we can use this knowledge and learn from it,” says a proud chairman of the local broadcaster.

With the move, the broadcaster hopes to make more possible in the future than it would be able to do on its own. “Thanks to the new facilities, we can make more news. In addition, local and regional media receive more money from The Hague. With this support, we can train people professionally and we have equipment that always works. Because we sometimes lacked that.” on,” says the Fox.

One of the future dreams is to attract new and young people, says the chairman: “For example, through programs that are specifically aimed at youth. We already have the EDM show on Friday evenings, but we would like more programs for young people in Assen. yes, youth is the future, and that also applies to Omroep Assen.”

A number of volunteers are still needed to take the next step in professionalizing broadcasting. “If someone wants to work for us, they don’t need to have all the knowledge in-house. We want to train and help people. We don’t just need technicians, but also presenters or editors.”

The broadcaster will start with the new programming from September. †Asserlei remains, but a few more programs are added. We would like to have a sort of top thirty on Saturday. We are still in talks with various presenters about the new programming. But if there is someone who would like to present a Spanish-language program, they are very welcome,” says de Vos with a laugh.
