Almost all tickets for the Milkshake festival, which takes place in Amsterdam at the end of July, were sold out within an hour today. This has been reported by director Marieke Samallo. The event, where diversity and individuality is celebrated, takes place in the Westerpark.
There are still a handful of individual tickets for Sunday left, says Samallo. All weekend tickets, Saturday tickets and afterparty tickets are sold out. A total of 34,000 people will visit the festival this year.
Ticket sales started Monday morning at 10:30 am. Unlike in previous years, only two tickets could be purchased per person. In this way Milkshake wants to prevent the buying and resale of tickets. Visitors who had tickets for the festival in 2020, which then had to be canceled due to corona, got a small head start.
Satisfying
Samallo states ‘to be extremely grateful’ that the fans are able to find the festival again after two silent corona years. Around 10.30 am there were 20,000 people in the digital queue. Almost all of these people have been able to get a ticket, according to the festival director.
Milkshake has been around for eleven years and is one of the most popular queer parties in the Netherlands. The eleventh edition will take place on 30 and 31 July. It is one of the first major summer festivals to go on sale since the relaxation of the corona restrictions is in the air.
