Festival Dansand celebrates Congolese holiday next to the statue of Leopold II

On the dike of Ostend, near ‘De drie gapers’, go-karts and walkers have to navigate around an enormous wooden, empty plinth. The big thing is a replica of Leopold II’s plinth in Brussels. All kinds of dancers then dance on and around the replica.
