Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc the difficult season continues. The Monaco native seems to be already very mature in his team.
Ferrari’s ability to screw up tactical decisions is already common knowledge. The latest chapter in this story came in Montreal, when the team did not listen to Leclerc’s report about the drying track.
– I want slicks under me, the Monaco native said on the team radio at the beginning of the Q2 section.
The garage refused to change the intermediate wheel tires. Leclerc continued on the ever-drying track for a while until Ferrari finally called him in for a tire change.
By then, however, the rain had started again. Leclerc, who was on the move with the wrong tires, was no longer able to improve his time, but he was bitterly eliminated from the final section for the second time in a row.
Leclerc, visibly heated, cursed and bewitched the operation of his team already on TV. My mind was stormy even when I stepped in front of the media.
– This time it was not difficult to see that the track was dry. I already said that in my first round. I don’t know why we continued with intermediate tires. We switched to slicks when the rain came, Leclerc said in front of the writing media.
Leclerc has received the wrong tires from Ferrari before. I remember well last year’s time trial at the Brazilian GP, when Ferrari made him downright laughable with his tactics.
– This was supposed to be an easy qualifying, so I don’t agree with my team, Leclerc growled.
The Monaco man has had a difficult season. Out of seven races, he has reached the podium only once.
