The Spanish Fernando Alonso, double champion of the world of Formula One, has signed for Aston Martin from 2023 with a multi-year contract, the British team announced on Monday. In a statement, Aston Martin acknowledges that Fernando’s “incredible experience and his brilliant pace and ability in the race is a clear statement of intent from an organization that is committed to developing a winning Formula 1 team.”
For his part, Alonso was very optimistic about the future: “This team is clearly applying the energy and commitment to win, and therefore it is one of the most interesting in Formula One today. I know Lawrence -Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman of Aston Martin – and Lance Stroll for many years and it is very obvious that they have the ambition and passion to succeed in Formula One.”
“I have seen the team consistently attract great people with a winning tag, and I am aware of the huge commitment to the new facilities and resources at Silverstone as no one in Formula One today is showing greater vision and absolute commitment to victory. and that makes it a really exciting opportunity for me,” says the Spaniard.
