* = Increased with Fernando Alonso’s penalties
Fernando Alonso dropped out of the Miami GP points. The Spaniard was fined five seconds after the race, the second of his kind.
Alonso already received a five-second penalty from Kolari during the race Pierre Gaslyn with. It dropped him ninth in the final results.
However, the ranking dropped bitterly two more after the race as the jury gave the other five extra seconds to the end. The jury found Alonso right and benefited from it.
In addition, Alonso was awarded two penalty points. In total, there are now three of them for the year.
With the penalty, Alonso will lose two points. Beneficiaries have risen to ninth in Williams Alex Albon as well as the painful Aston Martin Lance Stroll.
Alonso’s season has been grim. The 40-year-old two-time world champion has received just two World Championship points since the beginning of the season. There would have been a lot more points on offer, but the car has broken down or a competitor has slipped the Spaniard out.
Next, Alonso gets to try to earn extra points in front of his home crowd in Barcelona in two weeks.
