Fenerbahce Opet’s successful setter cross Melissa Vargas had no obstacles on her way to the national team. Fenerbahce General Manager Pelin Celik made statements about Vargas.
TURNED TO TURKISH CITIZENSHIP
Melissa Vargas passed Turkish citizenship in 2021. The Serbian National Team wanted to include Vargas in its squad. For this reason, Serbia also took some steps towards granting citizenship. However, Vargas chose to become a citizen of the Republic of Turkey. Yıldız had stated that she was looking forward to wearing the A National Women’s Volleyball Team uniform and that she would do her best for the Turkish National Team.
Vargas filled the waiting period to play for the National Team. In the FIVB Nations League, which will start at the end of May, Vargas will be able to wear the crescent-star jersey if head coach Daniele Santarelli is included in the squad.
