Dominik Livakovic drew attention to himself with brilliant saves at last year’s World Cup, and now the goalkeeper is taking the next step in his career. Fenerbahce announced on Thursday morning that the club had reached a basic agreement on a transfer with the 28-year-old Croatian national keeper – the official announcement followed on Friday. The Dinamo Zagreb captain signed a contract on the Bosphorus until 2028.
According to the Süper Lig club, Livakovic, whose contract in Zagreb was still valid for a year, costs 6.65 million euros in transfer fees, plus 950,000 euros in bonuses. With this sum, the 1.88 meter tall goalkeeper becomes the second most expensive goalkeeper in the history of the Süper Lig. Fernando Muslera holds the record in this ranking with his 6.75 million euros, which Galatasaray paid to Lazio Rome in 2011/12.
