In the second match of the CEV Women’s Champions League semi-finals, VakıfBank became the opponent of Imoco Conegliano in the final by beating Fenerbahçe Opet’s 3-0 lead and defeating their opponent 15-11 in the golden set of the match. After the match, VakıfBank Head Coach Giovanni Guidetti made a statement.
Congratulating Fenerbahce and its supporters, Guidetti said, “There was a really incredible atmosphere. Fenerbahce is a really strong team. One of the strongest teams I’ve ever seen in my life on the field today. They attacked very well with Vargas. I congratulate my own players. Maybe we were behind in the first set. “We started to get closer to Fenerbahçe in the last second. We came even closer in the last set. Of course, we were able to win in the gold set as we spent less energy in the first sets,” he said.
“DIFFICULT TO PLAY AGAINST IMOCO”
About their opponents in the final, Guidetti said, “Imoco is a very good team. It is difficult to play against Imoco. It is too early to talk about it. We will have to play better than today in that match.”
