In the second match of the ING Basketball Super League play-off semi-finals, Darüşşafaka beat Fenerbahçe Beko 82-81 on the road to make the series 1-1.
Darüşşafaka’s 7 turnovers were produced 12 assists in the first period and the yellow-dark blue team, which was effective with the points of De Colo and Vesely, established a 27-15 advantage over their opponent.
Starting the second period with a 9-0 series, the guest team took the lead 34-32 with Boothe’s basket in the 16th minute. Balancing the game with three consecutive three-pointer baskets, Darüşşafaka once again achieved a score advantage and entered the final period with a 64-60 lead.
In the last period, when the guest team scored with Doğuş Özdemiroğlu and the players coming from the sidelines, Fenerbahçe Beko scored points with the effective play of Melih Mahmutoğlu. Darüşşafaka brought the situation to 79-71 in the 36th minute with Doğuş Özdemiroğlu’s three-pointer, who showed an effective performance in all aspects of the game. Yellow-dark blue team equalized the score in the 38th minute with Melih Mahmutoğlu’s successive baskets: 79-79. The visiting team lost the ball with a 5 second violation while leading 82-81 with 9 seconds to go. Fenerbahçe Beko could not use its chance to win the match as De Colo lost the ball in the last attack and Darüşşafaka won the fight 82-81.
Doğuş Özdemiroğlu became the architect of the victory with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals in Darüşşafaka. De Colo’s 24 points could not prevent the defeat in Fenerbahçe Beko.
The third match of the series, where the side with three victories will qualify for the final, will be played on Saturday, May 28, hosted by Darüşşafaka.
