The Dutch athletes of the 4×400 meter relay have won gold at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. Led by Femke Bol and Lieke Klaver, the foursome ran to the title in the final of the final part of the World Cup in a Dutch record of 3:20.72.
Eveline Saalberg and Cathelijn Peeters were the other two athletes in the gold team, which finished ahead of Jamaica and Great Britain.
It was the fifth medal for the Dutch team at the World Cup. Bol scored her second gold medal. De Amersfoortse previously won the gold in the 400 meters hurdles as the first Dutch ever. In the final of the 4×400 meter mixed relay, she lost a certain medal as the final runner due to a fall in the last meters before the finish.
