Fellow inmate secretly photographed him showering

Ex-Bayern boss before 70th birthday

At the age of 70, Uli Hoeneß is slowly coming to rest. The legendary “Attack Department” of FC Bayern has not yet been completely discontinued, however, Hoeneß is still extremely opinionated.

Honorary President Uli Hoeneß of Bayern Munich has a strong aversion to vaccination opponents and would exclude them even more from social life. “I can become quite militant if someone does not get vaccinated,” said the long-time patron of the German soccer record champions of the weekly newspaper “Die Zeit”.

Just recently he broke off a private round of sheep because it turned out that a teammate was not vaccinated, reported Hoeneß: “I think you have to systematically exclude these people because it is quite inconsiderate not to be vaccinated.” He does not believe in compulsory vaccination, “that would divide society even more”.

Difficult conversations with Kimmich

With Bayern professional Joshua Kimmich, who was skeptical for a long time, he had many conversations on the subject. “That was difficult because he was influenced in a certain direction,” claimed Hoeneß.

It was similar with the initially unvaccinated players Jamal Musiala and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. “But at the end of the day, Joshua was very sensible and would have gotten the vaccine if he hadn’t been infected,” he said.

Hoeneß also reports again on his special relationship with Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic. “He always knew me by his side, especially in the conflict with Hansi Flick,” he said: “Some people at the club also wanted to get rid of him.” However, it was Flick who ultimately left Munich of his own free will and switched to the DFB as national coach.

“Knowledge of human nature no longer works properly”

The ex-Bayern boss also spoke in detail about his experiences and feelings during his prison sentence. “I was confused that my knowledge of human nature no longer worked properly in prison,” said Hoeneß. “Outside” he had “98 percent security” in this regard, according to the former Bayern manager, but he was threatened and deceived in prison.

A fellow inmate with whom he regularly played Schafkopf had secretly photographed him showering in order to sell the photos later. Hoeneß was sentenced to imprisonment in 2014 for tax evasion.
