After the change in the balance of performance for Sunday, Abt-Audi driver Ricardo Feller secured pole position in the second qualifying session in Zandvoort.
It actually looked as if Manthey EMA Porsche driver Thomas Preining would start from pole, because qualifying was stopped three minutes before the end after two Lamborghini crashes by Clemens Schmid and Alessio Deledda.
But Feller was one of the few pilots who managed to set a good time after the restart and overtook Preining by 0.344 seconds with a 1:33.020. Third place went to Landgraf Mercedes driver Maro Engel, who had previously dominated and was 0.497 seconds behind. Attempto driver Patric Niederhauser, an Audi driver, also finished fourth.
The demolition cost some favorites strong qualifying positions: Toksport WRT Porsche driver Tim Heinemann did not get past 16th place, defending champion Sheldon van der Linde had to make do with 17th place. And SSR Lamborghini drivers Franck Perera and Mirko Bortolotti finished 18th and 19th.
