A post by Felix Nmecha causes controversial discussions-now the BVB professional comments again. He tries to clear out misunderstandings.
Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha has again publicly explained himself publicly after the criticism of his social media activities. On Friday, the 24-year-old reacted via Instagram to the excitement for his previously deleted story contributions, with which he had spoken out his condolences to the killed US activist Charlie Kirk.
“Due to the reactions to my previous post, I would like to clarify the following: With my statements, I wanted to express my condolences to the grieving family and convey the message that hate and violence can never be the solution,” Nmecha wrote on a black background.
At the same time, in his new statement, he made part of the victim’s political attitude. “Different political points of view and opinions are perfectly fine, because I too did not agree with a number of things for which Charlie Kirk stood,” he continued.
The focus of the discussion was two story posts that NMECHA posted on Thursday and later deleted again. In a first post he had written to a black and white picture of Kirk: “Rest in peace with the Lord. Such a sad day. May the Lord of the Kirk family stand.”
In a further contribution, he commented on the public reaction to the murder: “The murder of a father and husband, a man who stands peacefully for his beliefs and values, is really angry and shows how much we really need Jesus Christ,” said the BVB professional. And further: “May God show grace and open your eyes and hearts in Jesus’ names.” The screenshots of the deleted content then quickly spread online.
NMECHA ended his latest statement with a conciliatory appeal: “Let love live on.” A white heart emoji added the message.
Borussia Dortmund announced on Friday that the incident was processed internally. However, sanctions against the player were not an issue. NMECHA, who is publicly positioned as a deep -believing Christian, had triggered criticism two years ago with shared content. At that time he had been accused of queer anti -quer- and homophobic positions.
Charlie Kirk, who was murdered at the age of 31, was a prominent right -wing activist in the United States. As the founder of the organization “Turning Point USA”, he repeatedly appeared with LGBTQ-hostile, racist and conspiracy theoretical statements. He was considered a close supporter of President Donald Trump and polarized with his political positions.
