Feijóo says that “the laws” ended ETA and the tension in Catalonia

The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, He gave an interview on Telecinco this Wednesday night in which he compared the end of ETA and the ‘procés’. In a question in which the journalist asked him if he admitted that the situation in Catalonia is “very different” that in 2017, when the independence referendum was held, he replied that it is normal for it to be better, because Pedro Sánchez has agreed to “all claims” of the pro-independence leaders who, even, he added, are now asking for a referendum. “What has solved the problem of Catalonia, as in its day it solved andhe problem of violence in the Basque Country? Laws. In Euskadi, clearly the state apparatus, the state security forces against the terrorist group ETA, and, in Catalonia, against the separatists and those who violated the law acted the Government, the intervention with the 155 and the Supreme Court. That is what has come to lessen the tension.”

The conservative leader recalled that, if he arrives at Moncloa, will recover the crime of sedition which Sánchez, he stressed, has had to repeal because his pro-independence partners “have forced him”. Feijóo considers that between the pardons and the legal reforms, “absolute interference in the judicial power” has been committed. In his opinion, it is “a shame” that Sánchez has agreed to pardons with the leaders of the ‘procés’. “I hope he says in the next few hours that he is not going to pardon Puigdemont,” he warned before recalling that the PSOE is governing “in many places” with Junts.

The PP leader took advantage of the interview to once again ask conservative voters to concentrate the vote on his party. The Galician politician wants a solo government, without pacts with Vox, something that for now the polls do not grant him. He believes that the Spanish can decide if they want a strong and solid government that can start “the next day” or “complex coalitions”.
