The fourth block of the debate exchanges reproaches about foreign policy in Morocco, about Catalonia and the blockade of the General Council of the Judiciary.
The fourth block of a heated and tense debate between Pedro Sanchez and Alberto Núñez Feijóo has dealt with Morocco and Catalonia and in part, also, with the Falcón, the official plane of the President of the Government, and the blockade of the PP to the renewal of the governing body of judges. The chapter on State, Institutional and International policies has reproduced the tone and model of debate, tense exchange of reproaches and accusations without knowing which insinuations have a bottom of truth and which do not. Feijóo has accused Sánchez of “lying” in domestic and foreign policy and Sánchez has reproached the PP candidate that his party does violate the Constitution with the “kidnapping” of the General Council of the Judiciary.
The leader of the PP has fed the theory that Morocco, through the pegasus system espionage, has information about Pedro Sánchez and about Spain that has conditioned the turn of the Government in its relationship with the neighboring country. A theory without evidence or serious indications that the socialist has not nipped in the bud. Feijóo accused Sánchez of not having gone to give explanations to the Spanish in Congress and assured that the legal case opened on Pegasus has been filed today, he said, “due to lack of collaboration & rdquor; of the president. In reality, the lack of information was from Israel, according to the file order. “What happened to Pegasus, What information do they have about you and Spain?& rdquor ;, questioned Feijóo, assuring that “nobody knows what they have agreed with Morocco & rdquor ;. To questions from the journalist, Ana Pastor, about what policy he would follow with the neighboring country if he were president, Feijóo has evaded giving an answer.
Management of Catalonia
Sánchez has defended his management of the political conflict in Catalonia, assuring that he has achieved “unite Spain”. His role as Prime Minister, he has said, has been to “comply with the Constitution every day of the year & rdquor; and he accused the PP that they have been breaking the Constitution for five years without renewing the body of power of the judges. “You carry hijacking the General Council of the Judiciary for five years. They have led the body of judges to the worst institutional crisis, for what? To cover up their corruption cases or to control the judiciary? & rdquor ;, stressed Sánchez.
“Of all the presidents, the one who has least respected the Constitution has been you,” replied the PP candidate, bringing up his pacts with ERC, “agree with the parties that have dealt a blow to the Constitution”, the pardons and reductions in embezzlement penalties or sedition reform. “The unity of the Spanish nation is not negotiated,” said Feijóo.
“You mix churras with merinos“, Sánchez tried to defend himself, who defended that when he came to the Government there were three concerns “employment, Catalonia and corruption & rdquor;, and none of them currently leads the agenda of concerns of the citizens. The socialist candidate has dedicated a lot of time to Falcon, to go back to President Felipe González to defend that it is a means of transport used by all those who have presided over the Government of Spain and thus defend their management of this official aircraft.
“He has called the State security forces and bodies ‘Piolines’,” recriminated the PP candidate for the Prime Minister, something that Sánchez has directly said is a “lie.” A bad example of those accusations crossed and without context that have made it so difficult for this debate to be a political discussion.
