Feijóo accuses Sánchez of handing over public policies to Podemos, ERC and Bildu with his new “anti-housing law”

  • The leader of the PP criticizes that the new norm does not include “not a word” about illegal squatting

The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has accused the President of the Government, Pedro Sanchez, to deliver public policies to Podemos, ERC and EH Bildu with its new “anti-housing law” and other regulations approved in recent months.

This was expressed in his speech at a rally in the town of Vega de Pas (Cantabria), where he has described the law as a “shame” and a “big disappointment” because he does not speak “seriously” about housing, “one of the main problems” in Spain.

“Do you remember when Sánchez came to the Government and said that intervene in rental prices it was one ineffective measure and who wouldn’t? And how did you end up applying that measure?” Feijóo questioned, to warn that “Intervening prices sounds great but it works very badly.” In his opinion, Sanchez “has ceased to be a socialist and has ‘podemized'”.

In this context, he has shown himself in favor of generating social housing and he has made Sánchez ugly for having “done zero”, while accusing him of having launched “little or nil” aid for renting young people.

“I agree to protect the spanish who have difficulties paying their housing, but what I do not agree with is that nothing be done to evict the squatters of the houses that are not theirs”, he has also added, to insist that the new Housing Law does not include “not a word” about illegal squatting.

For Feijóo, it is “revealing” that the Government “does not protect” Spanish families who see their homes occupied. “The same government that mercilessly insults everyone who disagrees with it, ears down before the ‘squatters'”, has ugly

In this regard, he has assured that the PP will present “an alternative model to the anti-housing law” and will guarantee “more help and security, for both the landlord and the tenant”: “We are going to make a covenant and not an imposition of the minority against the majority of Spaniards”, he has advanced, to highlight that the price of housing falls “by building more”.

In Feijóo’s opinion, when “combining” the “arrogance, with inexperience, callousness and weakness” Laws like this arise, agreed with ERC and EH Bildu, to which Sánchez “deliveries public policy”.

The ‘only yes is yes’, the “worst mistake”

On the other hand, the leader of the PP has warned that The worst mistake” of the President of the Government, “and the most painful”, has been the law of ‘only yes is yes’ because it was “avoidable” and “re-victimizes” the victims and “alarms society”.

In this sense, he has criticized that the PSOE has not been able to reform the law “despite having the free votes of the PP.” “I admit that I am stunned by this issue due to the lack of empathy and trust,” has regretted, to warn of the “arrogance” and “arrogance” of not reforming such “legislative nonsense.”

On this issue, Feijóo has said that if a “legal botch” as the law of ‘only yes is yes’ would have occurred during his government and no one “would have been able to ask for forgiveness”, he would not continue in the Executive.
