Anyone who hears Adel Tawil, 53, on the radio with titles like “Gott steh mir bei” or “From the same star” in a velvety soft voice, will perhaps say: nice, nice, very pleasant, but I don’t really need it live.
Maybe yes! Adel live, that’s more exciting and varied than the radio broadcast suggests, and it was again on Saturday evening in the well-filled but not sold-out Parkbühne Wuhlheide.
Of course, this also has to do with the fact that the Berlin singer is not alone with his solo songs and those from the time when he formed the duo Ich + Ich with Annette Humpe. No, his live concept has been called “Adel Tawil & Friends” for years.
And these friends, this time they were: R&B singer Cassandra Steen, the wonderfully intense pop lady Elif, the Hamburg children’s choir Alsterfrösche, the German-Bulgarian singer Peachy. And: “My brothers from Spandau!” With that, Adel Tawil announced the easy-going pop rap duo SDP, which was particularly successful that evening.
“You are the hottest!” “It’s unbelievable what’s going on here!” Adel Tawil kept ensnaring his fans. But that never seemed prepared, no, it just happened to him in the dizzying emotions. The nobility, that’s a good boy, honest skin, you just had to have that impression.
Again and again the fans let their mobile phones shine in the Wuhlheide, which was getting darker and darker, in order to make the songs appear even brighter. This was only surpassed by a short but intense pyro show, which Adel and his team suddenly flared up, surprising for many.
Adel and his friends could rely on their friends in the audience, who often happily formed a sing-along chorus of thousands. Of course, also with “So it should stay”.
“I’ve been waiting for this one moment for so long, I’m looking for one hundred percent.”
They were easily reached. It was a 100% feel-good concert. After that you felt better. Definitely not worse.
