Federal budget: Green and PS sweep savings on parental leave and time credit from the negotiating table

The federal government has started a search for money this weekend. Lots of money. Not only are the energy crisis and sky-high inflation taking a big bite out of the budget, Prime Minister Alexander De Croo (Open Vld) hopes to be able to reduce spending. A proposal to save 150 million euros over the next two years by cutting time credit, parental leave and career breaks for civil servants has already been brushed aside this weekend.
