Fedasil Jabbeke opens doors

The Jabbeke reception center opens its doors between 1 pm and 6 pm. Visitors are given a tour of the reception center and are introduced to the residents and staff. In addition, the meaning of ‘Bed, bath, bread and medical care’ is explained, which are four concepts that regularly appear in the media.

In addition to a drinks stand, everyone can enjoy delicious traditional snacks from the four continents. There is also a lot of fringe animation provided.

The asylum center

There are currently 160 residents in the reception center, one fourth of whom are minors. It concerns families and single women with or without children. Occasionally, single men also stay in the shelter, but with a vulnerable profile. The residents come from all over the world. So far, more than 40 nationalities have passed through Jabbeke. Next month, the center will scale up to approximately 300 residents.

Fedasil Jabbeke is currently also recruiting staff. This concerns social counsellors, administrative and logistics personnel and personnel in the accounting and HR sectors.
