“The mayor would like us to keep quiet about that amount, but that is not possible. You have to govern a city and so the Ostend resident and the municipal council must know where they stand. Especially if it is not true that they have no idea the impact. The exact amount is not known, but it is certain that it will be more than 30 million.”
And then even the Ostend long-term budget will have to be rewritten. Vooruit now also questions whether Ostend will benefit greatly from its own unified hospital.
