FDT Table: who will integrate it

President Alberto Fernandez decided to convene a national table of the front of all, which had been highly demanded by the Kirchner sector of the political force. Despite initial reluctance, the president finally agreed to meet with the different sectors, after several leaders of the ruling party met last week in merlo to show unity despite the inmates.

At said table, which could take place in the coming weeks (some speculate that next Saturday the 11th will be the first meeting), a large presence of governors, and social and union leaders is expected, but although Alberto Fernández wants to tighten the agenda of the conclave to the issue of electoral strategy, among the ranks of Kirchnerism there is talk of the need to discuss the policies of the current administration, something to which the President is willing.

At first, the president delayed the meeting, locked up in his inner circle and even acknowledging that he does not speak to all his ministers. “I know with whom I can govern and with whom not,” he recently told the journalist Mary O’Donnell in an interview, when asked about his differences with the minister Eduardo “Wado” of Pedro. The Minister of the Interior recently revealed Alberto Fernández’s rudeness: the President did not invite him to meet with Lula Silva and with the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayoduring the days in which the Brazilian president was in the country to participate in the summit of the CELAC.

The table would also participate, as it could not be otherwise, the vice president Cristina Kirchner. President and Vice have been estranged for some time and the force seems to be divided between those who are loyal to her and those who align with him. “I know that I have differences with Cristina, but I also know that we both want the same thing. Finally, we can have differences, what we don’t have is the right to divide ourselves”, Fernández recently stated in an interview with O’Donnell. A few days ago, many people within the ruling party were betting that the CELAC summit could once again bring together the president and vice president in a photo with Da Silva, but it could not materialize.

Another important actor that will be part of the table is Sergio Massathe Minister of Economy who, despite some successes at the beginning, and after six months in charge of the area, is unable to finish channeling the acute economic situation, one of the drivers of the general disenchantment that complicates the Frente de Todos in the face of the elections of 2023. And that with this scenario he runs from the contest and a possible candidacy for president.

Although it is not ruled out that other figures may emerge: for Alberto Fernández, the Frente de Todos should not have a single candidate, but should go to internal elections, the PASO, to determine the candidacies. The president’s position was supported by the ambassador in Brazil, Daniel Scioli, one of those who will probably sign up to compete. Also for the chaco Jorge Capitanich supported the opinion of Cristina Kirchner.

The table would be completed with representatives of the social movements: the Evita Movementled by leaders such as Fernando “Chino” Navarro and emilio persico, is aligned with the president. But they are in negotiations with The Camporaleadered by maximum kirchnerto define candidacies in the province of Buenos Aires, where the deputy is president of the PJ.

There the mayors appear divided, between those who stand in a column with the president and those who support the Kirchners, Kicillof and eventually Massa: last week, at the meeting that the ruling party held in Merlo to support Máximo Kirchner and the governor from the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillofvarious albertist mayors, such as Juan Zabaleta, Mariel Fernández and Alberto Desclalzo they decided not to be present.

Finally, the trade unionists also claim to be present at the table. Pablo Moyanoof the CGT, stated that the labor movement, the social movements, governors and mayors, owe “an internal debate to define important issues”. The general secretary of Canillitas, Omar Plaini; and the owner of Suteba, Roberto Baradel. They were also in favor of participating in the debate.
