Augsburg (dpa) – Before the home game against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, FC Augsburg sent a clear signal against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The FCA professionals warmed up in shirts in the national colors of Ukraine. The jerseys were decorated with a dove of peace.
“We live in Augsburg, the city of peace. We are all shocked that there was war,” said Augsburg’s sports director Stefan Reuter on the DAZN streaming service. The 1990 world champion and former Dortmund professional Reuter also wore the symbolic shirt during the interview.
