Valérien Ismaël and the English second division club FC Watford are now going their separate ways. The coach was placed on leave following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Coventry City. The club terminated Ismaël’s contract that same evening. The current U18 coach Tom Cleverley will take over the position on an interim basis.
A statement from Watford said: “The Hornets thank Valérien and his staff for their commitment and dedication, but the club’s board believes it is time to make a change to improve results. ” The English have lost six of the last eight league games and are currently only in 13th place in the championship table.
