FC Volendam has been surprised by the KNVB’s decision to move Wednesday’s match against Ajax. The football club from the fishing village is very disappointed about this.
“We will look at what our rights are in the coming hours,” a spokesperson for FC Volendam said. “I can’t say much about that at the moment, but let me say that both Ajax and we are not happy with this decision.”
FC Volendam does not want to comment on whether this is a case of competition distortion. “We are surprised and will quickly make a statement.”
FC Volendam has started this season poorly in the Premier League. After five games, Matthias Kohler’s team only collected one point, which puts the Volendam team in seventeenth place.
The remainder of the canceled match between Ajax and Feyenoord is now scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m.
