FC Volendam striker Robert Mühren elected best player of the first division

Robert Mühren was named the best player of the past season in the first division during the championship dinner in ‘s Hertogenbosch. The striker had a large share in the promotion of FC Volendam with his goals and assists.

Mühren received the prize for best player of the first division from national coach Louis van Gaal. He has scored 29 goals and 11 assists this season. However, Mühren had to leave the top scorer title to Thijs Dallinga. The Excelsior striker made 32 hits.

“Last summer I made the choice to continue playing in the first division,” said Mühren after receiving the award. “A choice that I am very happy with afterwards and that has resulted in the fact that I am here now and that we have achieved our goal with FC Volendam.”

Nick Olij (NAC Breda) received the prize for best goalkeeper, Johan Bakayoko of Jong PSV was elected best talent of the first division and Dick Lukkien received a shield for the best trainer of the first division.
