Following various incidents between supporter groups, FC Volendam has decided to implement a number of new security measures. For example, from now on, the away supporters, among others, must stay in the visitors’ section for half an hour longer after the game.
Last month, riots broke out twice around the stadium of FC Volendam. After the match against FC Emmen on March 5, supporters of both clubs went at each other’s fists. Two weeks later was it hit when the supporters of opponent Fortuna Sittard refused to board the buses after the game. Also then a confrontation with the supporters of FC Volendam followed. Both times the police were also attacked.

The recent incidents around the FC Volendam stadium have led the club to take additional measures. In addition to fans of the visiting team not being allowed to leave until half an hour later after the match, the bridge between Pegasusstraat and parking lot P1 is also closed during matches. It was here that things went wrong between fans of FC Volendam and FC Emmen.
The third and final measure is a bus lock for supporters of the visiting party. This measure was also in force around the FC Volendam – Fortuna Sittard match. It has been decided to use the bus lock at all remaining home games this season.
