FC Volendam has presented its first winter acquisition. Florent Sanchez Da Silva comes over from Olympique Lyon on a rental basis. The 19-year-old midfielder will play in the fishing village until the end of the season.
“I chose this rental option because I need playing time at the highest level,” said Sanchez on the club website. “FC Volendam fits perfectly with what I’m looking for, because they give opportunities to young players and play attacking football. My goals are to make as many minutes as possible in the next six months and help the team to maintain in the premier league.”
Peace
FC Volendam was still looking for a midfielder. Technical director Jasper van Leeuwen is therefore happy with the acquisition. “We looked at and weighed up different types and options. In the end we chose Florent, mainly because we expect that he can bring a lot of peace. That is something we have lacked too often in the first half of the season.”
Sanchez made his debut in 2021 in the main force of Olympique Lyon. Last season he was rented out to FC Villefranche-Beaujolais, which plays on the third level in France. The midfielder is also a France Under-20 youth international.
