FC Volendam has signed right back Oscar Buur for two and a half years with an option for one season. The 23-year-old Dane is seen as the replacement for Denso Kasius who left for Bologna.
At his previous club Wolverhampton Wanderers, Buur had his contract dissolved and so he comes to Volendam on a free transfer. In Denmark he played for Aarhus GF and Brabrand IF. In 2017 he left for England. He did not play much in the main squad of Wolverhampton Wanderers and so he was loaned out to the Swiss Grasshoppers last year.
“I am very happy to be here in Volendam. It’s a very exciting project here and I can’t wait to be part of this journey,” said Buur.
FC Volendam tried to capture the footballer before, but that did not work then. So now it has worked. “After the departure of Denso Kasius, we were naturally less occupied in the right-back position. With this we are back to double occupancy in one fell swoop and at the same time better prepared for the promotion scenario,” said technical director Jasper van Leeuwen.
