FC Valencia and coach Pepe Bordalás go their separate ways after one season. This was officially announced by the ninth-placed LaLiga on Friday. According to “markA corresponding clause in Bordalás’ contract, which originally ran until 2023, provides for a severance payment of 700,000 euros. In 46 games, the team scored an average of 1.46 points under the 58-year-old.
According to media reports, the successor has already been determined: Gennaro Gattuso is to take over FC Valencia. The former Italy international was most recently coach of SSC Napoli from December 2019 to June 2021, where the 44-year-old averaged 1.89 points in 81 games.
