FC Utrecht has a deal with Juventus about hiring the former PSV player. There are still some issues to be resolved, but it looks like Ihattaren can start working on his comeback in a familiar environment.
It is the intention that Ihattaren will be leased to FC Utrecht for 1.5 years, because he will not be match fit in the short term. Ihattaren played his last official game for PSV in April last year. He was then kicked out of the selection by PSV coach Roger Schmidt. In the summer, Ihattaren was acquired from PSV by Juventus for 1.9 million euros.
Juve stored the 19-year-old talent at Sampdoria, but it all went wrong there. Ihattaren had to work on his fitness for a long time, but could no longer mentally bring it up not to get a chance and returned to the Netherlands. The plan now is to let Ihattaren relaunch his career in his own familiar environment.
FC Utrecht is always looking for opportunities like this. With Zakaria Labyad, who had also been sidetracked abroad, this worked out very well a few years ago. The midfielder managed to rehabilitate and earned a transfer to Ajax.
