FC Schalke 04 is pushing ahead with its personnel planning after returning to the Bundesliga in May. In the last few days, Sebastian Polter, Tom Krauss, Tobias Mohr and Florent Mollet, among others, have been brought to Gelsenkirchen. The transfer activities of the royal blues do not seem to be over yet, as new rumors of changes about the club shoot up almost every day. Now FC Schalke should be on another offensive man’s turn.
As was reported on Tuesday, the second division champions are said to be seriously interested in Eduard Spertsyan from the Russian first division club FK Krasnodar. At least that’s what the Armenian journalist wants Hrach Khachatryan have experienced. According to him, the 22-year-old definitely wants to switch to the Bundesliga and take his next career step there.
In addition to FC Schalke 04, other clubs from Germany are said to be interested in Spertsyan, who is said to have multiplied his market value last season.
Spertsyan last scored in the Nations League
The Armenian national player made it from the second to the first team at his club FK Krasnodar last season and quickly became a regular there. He contributed eight goals this season and four assists in his first full season in the Premier League.
Spertsyan has recently been following in the footsteps of a certain Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the Armenian national team. The Armenian soccer star is now 33 years old and was under contract with Schalke’s archrival Borussia Dortmund between 2013 and 2016.
Spertsyan can also be used in attacking midfield positions and drew attention to himself a few weeks ago with his 1-0 winner in the Nations League against Ireland.
Whether the financially limited FC Schalke could afford the offensive man at all is still unclear. Spertsyan is contractually bound to FK Krasnodar until 2024, who recently finished fourth in the Russian championship.
