FC Schalke 04 | Zalazar gone soon? S04 probably receives its first million-dollar offer

After two years at FC Schalke 04, he feels he has a higher calling than playing in the 2nd Bundesliga again. For weeks there has been speculation that Rodrigo Zalazar could leave the Royal Blues this summer. Now a club is emerging that wants to transfer the midfielder.

As the “Bild” reported, RSC Anderlecht from the first Belgian league should be on the 23-year-old’s turn, who celebrated a furious international debut for the Uruguayan national team just under three weeks ago.

According to the newspaper report, the Belgian record champions really want to bring Zalazar to Anderlecht and have even made a concrete offer for the creative player.

According to the source, FC Schalke should insist on a transfer fee of at least five million euros, similar to attacker Marius Bülter. Zalazar is actually contractually bound to Gelsenkirchen until 2026.

Sports director André Hechelmann was calm when asked about the Zalazar offers rumored last weekend: “Offers have been received. Rodri has a three-year contract here, we’re totally relaxed.”

Zalazar played 22 times for FC Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga

In addition to the offer from Belgium, other interested parties should come from Italy and Spain, according to “Bild”, namely FC Torino and FC Villarreal. And several clubs from Brazil also have the Uruguayan on their list.

In FC Schalke’s relegation season, Zalazar had played 22 Bundesliga games, 15 of them from the start. Between October and January he was out with a metatarsal fracture.

Due to his important goals in the final of the 2021/2022 promotion season, Zalazar had previously earned the status of a crowd favorite at Schalke.
