FC Schalke 04: Next million deal fixed

Bundesliga relegated FC Schalke 04 continues to fill its empty transfer coffers.

After Amine Harit made a permanent move to his loan club Olympique Marseille for five million euros, Marvin Pieringer is also leaving the Royal Blues, as they announced on Monday.

However, the striker will not remain at SC Paderborn, for whom he last loaned out, but will strengthen 1. FC Heidenheim before their debut season in the Bundesliga. The 23-year-old signed a contract there until 2027.

According to the “Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung”, Schalke will receive a fee of 1.8 million euros for Pieringer. There are also various bonus payments. The S04 management is confident of ultimately redeeming around two million euros, they say.

“Marvin drew attention to himself during his time in Paderborn and was thus given the opportunity to play in the Bundesliga. He approached us with the desire to seize this opportunity,” said Schalke’s new sporting director André Hechelmann. “We finally reached an agreement with Heidenheim that benefits everyone. We wish Marvin all the best for his sporting and private future.”

Heidenheimer thanks to FC Schalke 04

“Marvin is a young striker who showed top performances in the 2nd Bundesliga last season and also comes from our wider region,” said Heidenheim’s sporting director Robert Strauss. “When we had the opportunity to sign him on a permanent basis, we all quickly agreed to seize this opportunity. We would like to thank FC Schalke 04 for the uncomplicated and cooperative partnership regarding this transfer and we are delighted that Marvin is part of our team teams will.”

Pieringer explained: “Of course, I’ve already been to the Voith Arena as an opposing player and I know how unpleasant it is to play here. That’s why I’m all the happier to be able to wear the FCH jersey myself and other teams in the Bundesliga next season – at home as well as abroad – to make life as difficult as possible.”
