FC Schalke 04 has recruited more personnel in the fight to stay up in the Bundesliga.
The bottom of the table has loaned the Finnish national player Jere Uronen from the French first division club Stade Brest until the end of the season.
The Royal Blues then have an option to buy the left-back. The club announced this on Saturday.
“With Jere Uronen and Thomas Ouwejan, we now have two left-backs who act differently. Jere is more defensively oriented and very disciplined when moving backwards, while Thomas has his strengths more on the offensive. This flexibility will help us to adapt to different opponents and playing systems set,” said coach Thomas Reis.
Uronen has already arrived at the training camp in Belek, Turkey. Schalke had previously loaned Niklas Tauer from FSV Mainz 05 for 18 months.
