Alpine Skiing Kranjska Gora Women: Live Ticker – Giant Slalom

09:39

Marta Bassino (ITA)

This winter, Bassino is the measure of all things in giant slalom. Especially in the second section, the Italian shows an almost perfect ride, but in the lower section she loses more than half a second and is only enough for second place for the time being.

09:36

Petra Vlhova (SVK)

The slalom specialist has yet to record a win this season and is therefore also attacking. At the finish, after a good run, she is only just behind her long-term competitor Shiffrin in third place.

09:36

Lara Gut-Behrami (SUI)

But what a performance by Lara Gut-Behrami! The Swiss finds her way into the race well and is therefore confident. The Swiss is rewarded with a comfortable lead!

09:33

Mikaela Shiffrin (USA)

And the first direction is immediately clear, because with Mikaela Shiffrin comes the driver in the strongest form. The American proves that again here and is seven tenths ahead of her competitor. Very strong performance by Shiffrin!

09:31

Tessa Worley (FRA)

Tessa Worley kicks things off! The French runs well but doesn’t take the last risk. The next runners show what the time will be worth in the end.

No points for Germany yet

Things are even worse for the DSV starters. While you can get involved in slalom, this is not the case at all in giant slalom. The German team has not collected a single World Cup point in this discipline

09:08

The ÖSV is missing at the top

n the technical disciplines, the Austrians are not yet good enough for the really big hit this winter. This is also the case in giant slalom, where no ÖSV starter is among the top ten of the World Cup. Katharina Liensberger and Ricarda Haaser collected the most points.

08:52

Can Gut-Behrami attack again?

The giant slalom winter started very successfully for Lara Gut-Behrami in November. The Swiss won the first race in Killington. Since then, Marta Bassino and Mikaela Shiffrin have outstripped her in the World Cup, but the Swiss could catapult herself back up the field with a win today. For Switzerland, the hopes rest mainly on this, because the second best Swiss this winter, Wendy Holdener, is more at home in slalom.

Warm welcome!

Good morning and hello to the women’s giant slalom from Kranjska Gora! Here the female skiers hit the slopes from 9:30 a.m.!
