FC Schalke 04 | 14:0! Kramer rates opening as head coach

Bundesliga promoted FC Schalke 04 won their first friendly of the ongoing preparations 14-0 on Wednesday evening. The royal blues dominated against the district league club VfB Hüls over 90 minutes and were already 10-0 up at half-time. The new S04 head coach Frank Kramer was then satisfied with the performance of his team.

“We’re hungry for goals, that’s important. The aim was for us to move well together, coordinate well and play seriously,” said the 50-year-old after the befitting win against the amateur team.

In front of almost 3,100 spectators in the Evonik Sportpark in Marl on Wednesday, goal scorer Simon Terodde in particular was able to excel and scored a strong six times in his 45 minutes of action.

In addition to Schalke’s star striker, the S04 supporters also looked at Alexander Schwolow, Ibrahima Cissé, Tom Krauss, Florent Mollet and Sebastian Polter, all of whom had appeared in royal blue for the first time.

The Frenchman Mollet and the ex-Bochumer Polter even scored directly for their new club and screwed the result up even more in the second round.

New head coach of FC Schalke speaks of “tingly anticipation”

Although it was only against an opponent from the district league, Frank Kramer didn’t want to hide a certain excitement before his first game as Schalke line manager: “It was a tingling anticipation for me today. It’s just fun when you see that too Friendly so many people come because they want to see us. It’s a great story to be supported like that.”

FC Schalke will be back on the pitch for a test match next Saturday. Then it goes to the regional league promoted Blau-Weiss Lohne in Lower Saxony. Kick-off is at 3:30 p.m.
