Suspension recently lifted
The misunderstanding between FC Nantes and Anthony Limbombe is finally history just over three and a half years after the transfer. On Monday evening, the French first division club announced that the contract with the Belgian attacker had been terminated.

After 33 appearances (three goals/two assists) in his debut season for Nantes, the right-footed player was loaned to Standard Liège and has stagnated ever since, also due to a number of injuries. His last assignment was on March 7th, 2020.
In the current season, Limbombe was only in the squad for the first match day, was then transferred to the reserve and was no longer allowed to take part in team events. No reason was given by the club There were rumors from the environment in Nantes at the beginning of September 2021, according to which a failed transfer in the summer contributed to the club’s decision. Negotiations are said to have taken place with Boavista Porto and SV Zulte Waregem. The suspension was only lifted in March after the league association LFP agreed with an objection by the player.
