FC Meppel in extremis past FC Burgum

FC Meppel and FC Burgum were evenly matched for a long time. Jarrisch Keizer’s team took the lead early on. The Frisians turned the game around and seemed to be winning. Camiel Fidom decided otherwise and dragged an extension out of the fire. In extra time, brother Jos eventually became the goldcrest: 3-2.

FC Meppel took on FC Burgum in Friesland. In the evening game, both teams were evenly matched in regular time. Jarrisch Keizer’s men opened strongly against FC Burgum and fired on the Frisian goal early on.

After fifteen minutes it was hit when Joey Mulders took the opening goal with a watched ball. Halfway through the first company, the home team came alongside when Thomas Pruis shot through the legs of Erik Kampherbeek: 1-1. After the resumption FC Burgum took the lead. With a nice pike dive, Steffen Kempe headed the 2-1 against the ropes.

Keizer’s team straightened its back. On a pass from brother Jos, Camiel Fidom made it 2-2. Brian van der Zweerde was close to 3-2 in overtime, but his effort exploded on the crossbar. On the other hand, Kampherbeek distinguished itself with excellent goalkeeping. The game seemed to be heading for penalties, but in the final phase of extra time, Jos Fidom still crowned himself the match winner: 3-2.

The fairy tale for the men of Jarrisch Keizer will be continued. Next Saturday they will decide together with runner-up Gorecht who will play in the first division next season. In the competition, the club from Haren was twice too strong for Keizer’s formation
