FC Meppel and De Weiden do not get along much with a draw

FOOTBALL – FC Meppel fought alongside De Weide this afternoon, after the Meppelers faced a 0-2 deficit early on. Jos Fidom scored twice for the home team, giving both teams one point in the game.

Both teams do not make much progress with the point and remain in the lower regions of the Saturday 2nd division J. De Weide remains twelfth with fourteen points, FC Meppel is thirteenth with one point less.

Twice Ronkes

The guests from Hoogeveen started the game well. After ten minutes of play there was a 0-2 score on the scoreboard. Twice it was Milan Ronkes who gave the ball the last push.

FC Meppel needed some time to process the two taps on the chin, but after fifteen minutes of football, coach Jarrisch Keizer’s team gained more control over the match and Jos Fidom ravaged the bar, but the ball bounced back into the field. Justin Torn’s long shot also just missed the mark.

And twice Fidom

De Weide showed little more and two minutes before half time Jos Fidom brought the tension back with the 1-2. No more goals were scored before halftime.

In the second half, after fifteen minutes of play, it was again Jos Fidom, who received the ball from his brother Camiel and scored the 2-2. In the half hour that followed, both teams had some chances, but no more goals were scored.
