FC Ingoltstadt brings Dittgen from FC St. Pauli – 7th new signing

Meets Coach Rehm again

When his contract with FC St. Pauli expires, Maximilian Dittgen will move to FC Ingolstadt in the 3rd division on a free transfer. The 27-year-old offensive player has signed a contract with the Schanzer with an unknown term. Dittgen, who as one of several professionals at St. Pauli did not get a new working paper, is already the seventh new signing of the second division relegated. In 2020, the left foot moved from Wehen Wiesbaden to Hamburg and since then has scored eight goals and four assists in 59 games.

FCI Sporting Director Dietmar Beiersdorfer said: “From the very first meeting, Max Dittgen made it clear that he would do everything to help our club achieve our goals. He has a strong left foot, extraordinary speed and an intense and passionate style of play – all qualities that he has demonstrated in both the second and third divisions. Max can play offensively on the flanks as well as in the center, which will give our offensive game even more variety.”

Dittgen explained: “I am overjoyed to be part of the FCI team and look forward to the exciting challenges that we will tackle together in the future. (…) Now I want to throw everything in so that this very professionally run club gets back to where it belongs.” In Ingolstadt he meets coach Rüdiger Rehm again, under whom he has already played 122 times – more often than under any other other trainers.
