FC Hansa Rostock want to keep Ukrainian Sikan – talks with Shakhtar?

Rostock loan ends

Hansa Rostock reportedly wants to keep Shakhtar Donetsk loanee Danylo Sikan (21) from Ukraine. In any case, FCH coach Jens Härtel emphasized (quoted via “picture“): “We would like to keep him”, although he admitted that the chances are “not too big.”

Meanwhile, the desire is mutual. Sikan himself said: “I don’t want to say ‘goodbye’ to the fans. I would like to stay, talk to Shakhtar. Maybe I’ll come back.” Härtel, on the other hand, dampened expectations with regard to Sikan’s parent club in Donetsk. He said: “No one knows what Shakhtar is up to and whether it will continue in the Ukrainian league. Danylo is now going to the national team and is on a completely different radar there.”

Meanwhile, Sikan raved about his emotional half-year on the Baltic Sea. “I’m grateful to Hansa that I was able to play in front of these fantastic fans.” Regardless of a possible return to the “Kogge”, he emphasized: “I’m recovering after training, I don’t need a vacation. Maybe a week – after that I’ll be ready for a new championship. In the Ukraine or in Germany.” Sikan played for Hansa in eleven second division games, provided two assists and scored once himself on matchday 23 in the 1-1 draw in Darmstadt.
