FC Eindhoven takes fourth win in a row, NAC beats leader Roda JC

FC Eindhoven continues to win. The team of Rob Penders achieved its fourth victory in a row in the Kitchen Champion Division on Friday evening. The visiting Jong AZ was beaten 1-0. NAC Breda also made a name for itself: it surprisingly won 1-3 against Roda JC, which, just like FC Eindhoven, had won the first three matches.

Helmond Sport started well against Telstar, but was defeated (2-1). The duel between TOP Oss and VVV-Venlo ended disappointingly for the home club in 1-2. FC Den Bosch (2-0 at Almere City FC) and especially Jong PSV (trumped by PEC Zwolle, 4-2) returned home empty-handed.

FC Eindhoven – Young AZ 1-0
A goal from Ozan Kökcü was enough for the home team. The offensively minded player scored on the stroke of half-time. That was it, also because a free kick by Naoufal Bannis just missed the target. The Eindhoven attacker had just been prevented from scoring a chance, which caused Wouter Goes to be red. Referee Stan Teuben did not hesitate for a moment.

Roda JC – NAC Breda 1-3
Kaj de Rooij is the first player to concede a goal against Roda JC, who had been co-leader until this Friday. That was in the 26th minute of the meeting in Kerkrade. Shortly after the break, Jort van der Sande made it 0-2. In extra time, Roda JC regained hope for a point with a goal from Guus Joppen, but in no time the Breda lead was doubled again by Odysseus Velanas. Immediately afterwards, the whistle was blown: a great victory for the formation of Robert Molenaar.

Telstar – Helmond Sport 2-1
Making goals is not the strongest point of Helmond Sport this season. Still, the low flyer in the Kitchen Champion Division opened the scoring in Velsen. Bryan van Hove signed for the goal. Completely unnecessary, Helmond Sport gave away the lead and Telstar was able to restore the balance thanks to the profiting Koen Blommestijn. Both teams have yet to win this season. Glynor Plet made sure that Telstar could take the full loot for the first time.

TOP Oss – VVV-Venlo 1-2
In Oss it was Justin Mathieu, who broke the ban from the penalty spot. That was after 21 minutes. A few minutes before the break, Thijme Verheijen equalized for VVV. That 1-1 also seemed to be the final score, but Nick Venema thought otherwise. He became the ‘match winner’ for VVV in the 93rd minute.

Almere City FC – FC Den Bosch 2-0
The match in Almere was especially tough. Referee Erwin Blank had to draw a yellow card four times, two of which for Steven van der Heijden from Bossche. Blank scored a goal once: in the 28th minute, Jeredy Hilterman scored for the home team. Both teams had chances, but only Hilterman managed to score.

PEC Zwolle – Young PSV 4-2
Young PSV was hardly involved in Zwolle. The strong list leader was a size too big for the Eindhoven promises. Jordy Tutuarima (after exactly ten seconds) and Tomislav Mrkonjic (2) expressed this in the score in the first half. Only after an hour was the young American Scott Sealy able to give some resistance on behalf of the team of Adil Ramzi: 3-1. Lennart Thy made it 4-1 with a cool lob, after which substitute August Priske Flyger determined the final score at 4-2.
